The Hub at Pacific Quay, Glasgow The story about Bryan Ferry dying in mysterious circumstances in the Guardian offices is just someone’s work-related anxiety dream. But everything else in this bittersweet elegy to the newspaper industry has the ring of truth, straight from the editorial floor. An up-to-the-minute verbatim collage by the National Theatre of Scotland, Enquirer deals not only with the kind of murky material currently being raked over by Lord Justice Leveson, but with all aspects of the journalistic trade, from the disreputable to the noble. Performed between filing cabinets, boardroom tables and newspaper bundles in an office in Glasgow’s self-styled “digital media the production, directed by John Tiffany and Vicky Featherstone, is based on interviews with 43 journalists (mostly anonymous) – some presented straight, with the cast of six playing clearly identifiable roles, others stitched together into dramatic scenarios. The phone-hacking scandal may be…

A mystery package containing two nuts in a bag and an intriguing “Coming Soon” label has arrived from Olympus – but what exactly is going on? We’re not really into our mixed messages – we like to call a spade a spade and a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera a CSC. So, when a mysterious package arrived from Olympus this morning, containing nothing more than a box with two nuts and an intriguing “Coming Soon” label, we’ve been left a little bit confused. In case you’re wondering, we cracked open the nuts after this photo was taken to see if there are any more hidden clues contained within, but sadly we were met with disappointment (but we are thinking about baking some brownies later). Launches This year, we’ve already seen the launch of the highly anticipated OM-D E-M5, during which we learned that the PEN series was next on the agenda for upgrade. We also know that Olympus will be launching new lenses to sit in its range, including a 60mm f/2.8 macro lens and a 75mm f/1.8…

Trying out another CCTV lens on the E-PM1. This one’s an unbranded 8mm f/1.3 that I found on ebay. It focuses from 20cm to infinity (and goes past that on my adapter) and has a 25mm filter thread. The goes from f/1.3 to f/16 and then closes down altogether, with a screw to lock it in place. Five blades on the Apart from “Japan” and “TV lens 8mm 1:1.3″, there’s not a lot to identify it by.

It looks to have a 1/2″ image circle – this is cropped on the sides, but not the top or the bottom. It’s sharper in the centre than the SLR Magic 11mm is, and has much less on the edges. Which makes it a little boring, but the width and speed compensate for that. How many 16mm f/1.3 lenses can you get for 35mm film/sensors?
